Our Story

From working through brokers, to opening our own door.

For years, WestTerraSun's product moved to the world through other traders' hands. We knew the crops, the growers, and the quality better than anyone — but the relationship with the end buyer always belonged to someone else.

So we opened our own office, on the water in Vancouver, to trade directly. Same Saskatchewan lentils, peas, and pulse crops — grown under the same big prairie sky — now shipped under our own name, with a direct line between our farms and your port.

Our focus is lentils, grown in the heart of Saskatchewan's pulse country, sorted and graded to export standard across multiple varieties and grades. We also supply the province's other signature crops for buyers who want one trusted source.

Red Lentils

From whole to split, premium to value grade — our red lentil program covers the full range export buyers ask for.

Canada No. 1

Whole Red (Crimson)

Large, uniform whole red lentils — the classic 'football' size buyers ask for by name. Our top export grade, sized and color-sorted before every container.

Canada No. 1 / No. 2

Split Red Lentils

Dehulled and split for the fastest cook time — our highest-volume export, milled to order and available in both premium and value grades.

Canada No. 2

Small Red (Local Red)

A smaller-seeded red variety favored in regional South Asian and Middle Eastern markets that prefer a quicker-cooking, budget-tier red.

Green Lentils

Led by Laird, Saskatchewan's signature variety, alongside smaller-seeded and specialty green lentils.

Laird (Large Green)

Saskatchewan's signature variety — large, bold, and known worldwide by name. Graded for size and color uniformity, our benchmark green lentil.

Richlea / Eston (Small Green)

A smaller-seeded green lentil grown across the same prairie belt, offering buyers a lower-cost alternative to Laird without sacrificing quality.

Specialty grade

French Green (Puy-style)
